Well, Tomato Mania happened. I was not quick enough to score a Black Krim, or a Purple Russian, but I came away with what I feel is a good crop. More photos over time to follow!
Yes the garden soil is ridiculously littered and filthy. Hence the downtown dirty namesake. Every year I find broken glass, cigarette butts, and bottle caps, along with other random bits and pieces. I believe such rich history will surely provide a richer, more aromatic and well-rounded fruit.

The King Returns
Earlier this week, my long-time project bike, a beach cruiser named “King Cobra” was stolen out of the garage. It was the middle of the night, Jason thought that he heard something, but didn’t see anyone outside. The next day, I placed an ad on Craigslist about the incident.
I wasn’t expecting a knock on the door this morning around 9am, but to my great surprise, it was Jessica and Chenin toting along the Cobra! Apparently, a man collecting cans was riding it downtown. When asked about how he obtained the bicycle, he reported that he bought it from some kid.
So, all is back in place now. The King of Cobras has a new lock and is currently tethered safely in his, place cozied up next to the “Del Mar”, nestled in safely. He is missing his trademark accessories, unfortunately, the signature CobraHead valve stem caps for which he was so aptly named. Not to worry, however. Jason found some on eBay and they will be here very soon.
Trip to Paso Robles Junkyard
Today we visited a special place. This graveyard of abandoned vehicles had many composite colors and medleys of materials to inspire me.
